Elon Musk suggests Tesla's new chairwoman won't rein him in

Tesla likely to acquire shut GM plants claims CEO Elon Musk

But, according to the terms of the settlement, any tweets pertaining to the automaker, such as one claiming that Tesla will "soon" be roadworthy for completely driverless interactions, would likely fall under the clause pertaining to mandatory "oversight of communications" before being sent to the world (Specifically, the settlement calls out Twitter by name).

The EV maker has gone from strength to strength despite criticism from naysayers, predictions that the company would go bankrupt and a settlement with the SEC after comments about taking Tesla private caused stocks to plummet.

ELON MUSK: The only Tweets that would have to be say reviewed would be if a tweet had a probability of causing a movement in the stock.

"I want to be clear: I do not respect the SEC", Musk said. "I do not respect the SEC-I do not respect them" he said in an interview on the CBS network news program "60 Minutes". And I didn't really want to try to adhere to some CEO template. "So it's like, just because I'm dumb at predicting dates does not mean I am untruthful".

"I use my tweets to express myself".

"I actually prefer to have no titles at all", Musk said.

In response to being asked whether Denholm was appointed to watch over Musk "like a babysitter", he rejected the very idea.

"I am the largest shareholder of the company", Musk proclaimed.

For example, one reason he gives during the 60 Minutes piece as to why so many production deadlines related to the Model 3 were missed?

But ultimately, it is Musk's fierce determination that drives Tesla's success - to achieve those goals the CEO more or less moved into the factory to troubleshoot bottlenecks and encourage his staff to work harder. Musk said he would not be interested. "But they just did not count on this unconventional situation of creating an assembly line in a parking lot in a tent!"

"Well, I mean punctuality's not my strong suit".

"Nobody's flawless", the Tesla chief said, while laughing.

Musk reached a settlement with the SEC in late September that required him to pay $20 million and step down as Tesla's chairperson for a minimum of three years.

To be clear, Musk is free to tweet about his personal life without a hitch. "I use Twitter." Lesley gently ribs him for using tweets to snipe at critics, to which Elon replies: "Twitter's a war zone". "Some people use their hair", he laughs.
