"For me it looks like diving and my player told me he touched the ball", said Silva in his post match TV interview with Sky Sports.

Manchester United entered the game against Everton under pressure to win after they were outclassed at Old Trafford on Tuesday night by Juventus.

Jordan Pickford produced a strong hand to deny the Frenchman's straight effort, but parried it back towards Pogba, who adjusted his feet well to slot home the opener.

What's your take on Pogba's penalty run-up? In football it's hard to feed that relation with managers, because our life is not an easy one and it's not like we can have conversations or be together every day or every week, but he's a good boy.

"I don't like to kick the ball away, but sometimes you just have to clear the ball and push up the field", he said.

"His performance today without the goal would be a good performance, and what I want from him is exactly that". And it appears that Jose Mourinho's team has been leaked ahead of kick-off.

However, The 25-year-old Belgium global has failed to find the back of the net in his last eight (now nine) matches and has not scored at Old Trafford since late March.

"I think one of the best scorers in football had amusing words about it".

"The penalty had a big impact in the match and we did not deserve this result", said Marco Silva.

Sell Lukaku. We don't need him.

"I believe with Lukaku that this will happen, but the reality is that in this moment it's not happening".

Everton nearly found an immediate response three minutes later, but Bernard, having rounded De Gea, inexplicably missed the target with the goal gaping.

Three minutes into the second half, Pogba was involved again for United's second, brilliantly finished by Martial with a curling right-footed shot from outside the box, reminiscent of his second goal in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea last weekend.

Organised the back four with authority for most of the game but gave away an terrible penalty, unnecessarily lunging in the box to give Everton a route back into the game.

"OK he's a fantastic player and he scored a fantastic second goal as well but in that moment it should have been a yellow card to Martial".

"But in these matches where you don't score, where you don't assist, where your creation is not at the high level, but you have a certain balance in your performance, that's where I think he is going well".
