Drawing nears for $750 million Powerball jackpot

The Powerball numbers 3, 21, 45, 53, 56 and a Powerball of 22 were drawn on Wednesday night. The ticket was sold in SC.

Lottery players will have a shot at the fourth-largest jackpot in USA history as numbers are drawn for the estimated $750 million Powerball game. The next drawing will be held on Saturday at 11 p.m. EST.

"We all got a text saying we got a million-dollar ticket", Kraemer said.

Hoping to strike some luck, Earl Livingston, of Blackwood, New Jersey, headed to a nearby convenience store to buy a ticket for the $1.537 billion Mega Millions drawing.

If there's a victor, it would be one of largest jackpots in the nation's history.

The victor or winners would also have a one-time cash option of $428.6 million - a prize that's still more than alright.

Powerball has climbed since the last winning ticket took home the jackpot in NY in August. No one won the top prize in the last drawing but a few people matched all five white balls and won $1 million.

The third-largest Powerball drawing is in the books, so check your tickets.

States receive a percentage of lottery ticket sales and use the money to support public schools or to meet other needs.
