Google makes it easier to clear your recent Search activity

From directly within Search, it's now possible to review and delete recent Search Activity, get quick access to the most relevant privacy controls in your Google Account, and finally, gather more information about how search utilizes your data. You'll also be able to control if you want Google to store your web and voice data.

Under the new overhaul, users can immediately access their Google search settings by simply heading to the "Settings" tab in their Google search and clicking "Your data in Search".

Users had to disable a setting titled "Web and App Activity" - even though Google did not describe the setting as including location data or disclose that the setting allowed Users' location to be tracked and stored. We explain how to clear your search history off of Google's servers using this new tool.

Lawsuits aside, both Google and Facebook executives have also lent their support to a Federal privacy law in the past.

If you've ever gotten discouraged trying to find exactly where in Google's menus to view and edit your search history, Google hears you.

Google says it plans to expand these privacy control efforts to Google Maps in 2019, followed by releases in "many" other Google products.

These settings aren't new at all, and Google has been offering these controls for months now.

Google director of product management in the Privacy and Data Protection Office Eric Miraglia told Wired said the idea is to start with Google Search and go from there. "And these stockpiles of personal data serve only to enrich the companies that collect them". You can now quickly erase this history from Google's search results rather than heading to the Google Account dashboard. Just use the three-dot menus next to each search term.

Select Your data in Search. One of its biggest sources of that data is Google Search, which serves as the company's marquee product. They'll be available in the Google app for iOS and Android in the coming weeks.
