Meghan Markle had a very special solo engagement in Australia

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Harry and Meghan are on their first global tour since marrying in May this year and are travelling to Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific islands of Fiji and Tonga.

It's fitting Meghan would choose to wear something of Diana's during her first royal tour. "And so as soon as he saw [Harry's beard], we went into the panic mode because he's touching a member of the royal family!" It's great that someone who's bi-racial and American can do this [marry into the Royal Family].

Definitely, I was very concerned once he started rubbing Prince Harry's face and his hair but Prince Harry was completely gracious and so polite and realised what was happening with his infatuation with his beard.

Speaking to one of the family, Meghan did admit that she was feeling a bit exhausted after announcing she is pregnant - but said she was running on adrenaline.

Meghan held an umbrella over Harry as he gave a speech, acknowledging the hardships the drought brought to the rural community and urging drought victims not to suffer in silence.

While the exact recipe Meghan used for her banana bread has not been revealed, banana bread is one of the most-searched items on Pinterest.

The Duke of Sussex got a particularly warm welcome from one schoolboy as the royal tour made its way to the outback city of Dubbo.

"Beautiful, absolutely. They were lovely", the war widow told reporters after meeting the royal couple on Tuesday.

"I am shocked, it's a once in a lifetime chance", Daniella added.

Reacting to news of Meghan's pregnancy, the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were said to be "delighted". You can't say anything negative.

Prince Harry told the thousands who had come out to see the royal couple in Dubbo, about 300 km (185 miles) northwest of Sydney.

The duke and duchess will travel on an iconic Melbourne tram to South Melbourne beach, where they will meet volunteers from a local beach patrol programme.
