Here's Your First Look at Ruby Rose as Batwoman

First Image of Ruby Rose as Batwoman Reveals a New Caped Crusader

The CW has just debuted the first picture of Ruby Rose in costume as Kate Kane/Batwoman for this year's Arrowverse crossover, and she looks epic. Rose will be playing this female Caped Crusader for the three episode run of the "Elseworlds" crossover event, and has potential to have her own series down the road. Staying true to the comics, Ruby is rocking fiery red hair and Batwoman's signature suit in the first look of Ruby in the costume.

Set against a dark and gritty city backdrop - with the Bat-Signal shining bright in the night sky no less - Rose stuns in this first look photo at the iconic superhero.

It will air in Australia on Foxtel in December. "Twitter didn't exist, but we would get boxes of letters expressing opinions in all directions from were we making enough change, should we be making more change, or why did we feel like we needed to do these things?"

"Growing up watching TV, I never saw somebody that I identified with, let alone a superhero", Rose told Jimmy Fallon during an appearance on The Tonight Show back in August, adding her casting is a "game changer". It will also be nice to spread the heroes out more evenly across the multiverse.

Rose took the role of Batwoman primarily to help shed more light on an unrepresented community.

"[Ruby] is terrific in the role", Berlanti continued, "and we're excited for people to see the story". Unlike some other Arrowverse costumes, Batwoman's appears to be incredibly intricate and comic-book accurate.
