Actor Burt Reynolds dies at age 82

Burt Reynolds dies at the age of 82

Although Reynolds name and face have graced many worthy movies, he will forever be remembered as the charming, devil-may-care Bo "Bandit" Darville in the 1977 pop culture hit Smokey and the Bandit. "I didn't open myself to new writers or risky parts because I wasn't interested in challenging myself as an actor, I was interested in having a good time", he said.

Smith has always been an outspoken fan of Reynolds, with either the actor himself or the Smokey and the Bandit films being referenced in numerous films and other projects Smith has developed.

"Gutted Burt Reynolds has died". He was cast in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino directed "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood", scheduled for release next year. According to the report, Reynolds died on Thursday morning at Jupiter Medical in Flordia, per his manager Erik Krtizer. The actor starred in dozens of films over the years, including Deliverance, Boogie Nights, and The Cannonball Run, and had a prolific career, particularly at the box office.

One of America's most prominent sex symbols, he was known for posing nude in Cosmopolitan magazine in 1972. The movie won Reynolds a Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Known for his easy grin and handsome looks, his movie work took a leap with 1971's Deliverance, with the controversial drama rocketing him to a period of major stardom in the 1970s and "80s". That same year he also made an appearance on Armored Command. His later years were a mix of smaller roles in films and a return to guest shots on TV series, some such as animated spy spoof Archer playing on Reynolds' own past glories.

The star had undergone a quintuple heart bypass in February 2010 but been working until recently; he was now filming Quentin Tarantino's film about the Charles Manson murders, Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.

Reynolds was married and divorced twice, first in the 1960s to comedienne Judy Carne and then to television actress Loni Anderson.
