Watch Nike's new ad featuring Colin Kaepernick

Nike Le Bron 16 HFR

The Game praised the company for putting Colin Kaepernick as the face of their new ad campaign.

Kaepernick has become a polarizing figure after refusing to stand for the national anthem in 2016 in an effort to draw attention to racial injustice in America. I'm not gonna speak for them, but there was no one happy about it.

Trump's tweet also referenced the NFL's declining TV ratings and said that he finds it "hard to watch" and "always will, until [the players] stand for the FLAG!"

As the Nike controversy heats up, outspoken country duo Brothers Osborne are speaking out via social media. Now out of football, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback is pursuing a collusion grievance against the NFL.

A spokeswoman for Nike, Sandra Carreon-John, said: "Colin has been a Nike athlete since 2011".

The quarterback posted a two-minute version on Twitter, in which his voice is heard over images of other prominent athletes, including LeBron James and Serena Williams. Some responded by burning Nike gear, while others purchased more, backing the company. As one of the world's largest sports apparel companies, it seems Nike's dream is insane enough.

Kaepernick says: "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything".

Stephen Martin, the owner of Prime Time Sports, said he knows he is jeopardizing his business, as a large part of his inventory is Nike NFL jerseys, according to KRDO. Some people even burned their sneakers to protest, so rightly or wrongly (wrongly is the correct answer), it was a controversial move. He is now suing the league's 32 owners, accusing them of conspiring to keep him out of the league because of his role in popularizing the protests.

Mr Trump has loudly urged the league to suspend or fire players who demonstrate during the anthem, repeatedly diving into what has developed into one of the most contentious debates in sports.
