Nick Saban Goes OFF On ESPN Reporter About Constant QB Questions

Nick Saban took his general exasperation with questions about the team's quarterback situation out on ESPN's Maria Taylor following the Crimson Tide's destruction of Louisville on Saturday.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa - the unlikely hero of the Tide's win over rival Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship - got the start over junior and former starter Jalen Hurts.

"Well, I still like both guys". Taylor was absolutely right to ask the question in her postgame interview on the field, whether Saban likes it or not. I think both guys are good players.

"Both guys are weapons to our team", Saban said during his Thursday night radio show. "I'm not going to, so quit asking", Saban said. It's also rich to hear this from a coach who spent a solid 10 seconds screaming at one his players in the very same game on Saturday. But he bounded to his feet, and any reasonable argument for him not being the starting quarterback was left in the shadow of the throw he'd just made.

It's apparently an insult to Hurts to say it, but Tagovailoa looked masterful in his first action of the 2018 season. Tagovailoa was 12-of-16 through the air for 227 yards and a pair of touchdowns before Hurts got some reps. Tagovailoa would return to the game and rush for a 9-yard score later in the quarter.
