Unai Emery reveals he's ready to use long-ball football to win

Arsenal's Spanish head coach Unai Emery reacts on the touchline during the English Premier League football match between Arsenal and West Ham United at the Emirates Stadium in London

It remains to be seen whether Mesut Ozil will return to the Arsenal starting line-up after he missed the first victory of the Unai Emery reign last weekend.

There had been reports of a bust-up between Emery and Ozil at Arsenal's training ground before the game, but the new Gunners boss insisted that his absence from the squad was due to illness after the game.

Unai Emery's Arsenal side was drawn alongside Sporting CP, Qarabag, and FC Vorskla.

"I've had some good times with Arsene and I was sad - the grass is not always greener but I like the new chap".

Emery also paid tribute to Warnock and said: "I understand Mr Warnock is very competitive and I like this spirit".

"It's amusing, because I spoke to the Rosenborg captain [Mike Jensen] on the pitch in Trondheim after we played them and he said "Congratulations, maybe see you next year again", said Celtic manager Rodgers.

"He can come and play me for me if he wants", Warnock added on Ozil. After beating West Ham last week, the Gunners have a little bit of momentum entering this one, as they look to overcome their slow start to the campaign.

It is believed Ozil was suffering with a heavy cold which meant club staff felt it was best if he was kept away from other players to prevent any further infection.

"Now we are going to play against Cardiff away and my thoughts are only on how we can win, not to think about the past".

"Everyone will play in the position we need, so it is about where he will be better for us", Emery told reporters.

"We need each match to continue what we are doing and to demand a high level".

Arsenal discovered their Europa League fate moments before Emery's press conference to preview the Cardiff game.

"The adaptation for these three teams needs to be positive and we need to face them with ambition and our interest to do well in the competition".

The Uruguay worldwide midfielder has impressed after coming on as a substitute in all three of the Gunners opening Premier League fixtures, with many Arsenal fans demanding that he be given a starting role in Emery's side. It's not easy because it's at their stadium.
