Elon Musk appears to reaffirm 'pedo guy' smear against British cave diver

Elon Musk renews 'pedo' controversy, asks if it's 'strange' the British diver hasn't sued

"I think people realise what sort of guy [Musk] is". The letter was dated August 6, just a day before Musk posted his fateful "funding secured" tweet.

"You published through three different tweets to your twenty-two million followers that Mr. Unsworth engages in the sexual exploitation of Thai children", Unsworth's attorney L. Lin Wood wrote in an August 6 letter first published on Wednesday by Buzzfeed News.

Musk later apologised for the tweets, but yesterday seemed to backtrack by tweeting: "You don't think it's unusual he hasn't sued me?"

Unsworth later responded to Musk's comments, telling the Guardian: "I believe he's called me a paedophile".

Cave diver Vernon Unsworth helped to rescue 12 schoolboys and their coach who were stuck in the Tham Luang cave complex last month.

Musk apologized for the earlier tweets and eventually took them down, but his Tuesday tweets are still up.

The letter, which Wood said was sent to Musk's Bel-Air home, said the lawyer is "in the process of preparing a civil complaint for libel against you". "He was offered free legal services", Musk said after the Twitter user, Drew Olanoff, criticised Musk for the "pedo" tweet.

Wood invited Musk or his legal representatives to contact him to avoid a lawsuit.

It's just the latest Twitter hubbub Musk has created. Musk has since apologised for making the baseless claim, adding that he had said it out of anger.

He then asked Olanoff if he had investigated for himself in two separate tweets, before concluding that he hadn't.

A Tesla employee who was sacked from a Nevada battery factory filed a whistleblower complaint with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, accusing the electric-car maker of spying on its workers and turning a blind eye to drug trafficking by the Mexican cartel.

One investor on Wednesday asked him to lay off Twitter.

To keep tabs on Tesla inventory, @Latrilife monitors California lots where he said Tesla cars are kept before being shipped to distribution centers and posts the footage on Twitter.

"He's not going to become a typical CEO, so the question is whether he's going to make statements that run afoul of securities laws", said Ken Bertsch, an executive director at the Council of Institutional Investors, a trade group that represents public pension funds that own Tesla shares.

Whether or not Musk actually cried real baby man tears is neither here nor there.
