Lewandowski: I warned Trump about Cohen

Trump has denied having knowledge of the payments to the women at the time they were made

Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organisation's chief financial officer, was said to have met with prosecutors weeks ago after being ordered to appear before a grand jury. In court on Tuesday, Cohen said that Trump had directed him to make the payments, which violated campaign finance laws.

Cohen pleaded guilty this week in a federal court in Manhattan to campaign finance violations alleging he coordinated with Trump on a hush-money scheme to buy the silence of a porn actress and a Playboy model who alleged affairs.

Earlier in August, Davis said his client, Michael Cohen, had information linking Trump to the hacks.

After the disclosure of the recording, Alan Futerfas, an attorney for the Trump Organization, disputed the idea that Weisselberg had signed off on Cohen's plan.

Doug Deason, a Texas-based donor and major Trump supporter, said: "In no way, shape or form did we think we were hiring St. Trump to fix the morals of the country". It was later reported that, as part of the probe into Cohen, immunity was granted to Weisselberg and Pecker.

Through his lawyer, Cohen said collecting contributions through a GoFundMe page set up after his guilty plea this week is the only way to ensure the truth comes out about the president. Adam Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said of Cohen's allegations against Trump on CNN's "State of the Union" Sunday.

"Please pay from the Trust", executive 1 is quoted directing to another unnamed employee.

"Clearly Weisselberg's testimony helped the case against Cohen, but that doesn't mean he hasn't or won't implicate others, and he has to cooperate with prosecutors going forward", Mariotti tweeted. He's worked for the Trump family for decades, starting with Fred Trump in the 1970s.

Former Clinton special counsel and now Cohen lawyer - Lanny Davis - said that he could "not independently verify" claims he made last week that the president knew about and encouraged Russian hacking in 2016.

A juror who voted to convict Paul Manafort and who is also a supporter of U.S. President Donald Trump has some advice for Trump if he is considering whether to pardon his former campaign chairman: don't do it. Asked if Weisselberg was cooperating further, one of the sources declined to comment. Cohen's plea deal did not include an outright cooperation agreement, and reps for the other two men did not respond to requests for comment.

"Over 90% approval rating for your all time favorite (I hope) President within the Republican Party and 52% overall", Trump wrote in the tweet.

Davis has strongly telegraphed that Cohen is willing to cooperate with Mueller's investigation. Separately, the NY state attorney general has filed a civil lawsuit against the Trump foundation, Trump's purported charity.
