Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg reportedly granted immunity

Trump claims markets would crash if he was impeached

"Last week proves. that the special counsel is the least important element in this investigation" into the president and the 2016 campaign, Dershowitz added, referring to former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's pleading guilty in NY on Tuesday to tax evasion and campaign finance violations.

People instantly recognized who was in Conway's sights in this tweet. The effect of their alleged conspiracy against campaign finance laws was to defraud American voters, who were prevented from learning potentially relevant information ahead of Election Day 2016. In the news pages, Trump's coverage was so favorable that the New Yorker magazine said the Enquirer embraced him "with sycophantic fervor".

Lewandowski's rebuke of Cohen's illegal activities came with a caveat they had "nothing to do with" Trump.

The Manafort charges stem nearly completely from his personal businesses but they came to light after he went to work for Trump.

The president's story about Cohen's payments has changed multiple times over the past year, and in the Fox interview he tried several ways of defusing the allegations.

Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's spokeswoman, pushed back on the former aide's claims, saying that the two women "rarely, if ever, interacted" during Manigault Newman's time at the White House.

Daniels was paid $130,000 from Cohen directly and McDougal was paid from the publisher American Media, Inc., which owns the National Enquirer.

Though Donald Trump has consistently claimed that he has no business interests in Russian Federation, the author of a new book alleging the president was tied to Russian Federation mobsters laundering money in his properties put that claim to the test during an MSNBC interview Friday.

Dershowitz on Sunday also commented on the possibility that Trump could replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Trump claimed his former lawyer "made the deals", and insisted that Cohen's actions were "not a crime", while going on to claim that "campaign violations are considered not a big deal, frankly".

Weisselberg was subpoenaed in July as part of the Cohen investigation, and testified a few weeks ago, according to CNN.

He said he had paid hush money to two women who alleged they had affairs with Mr Trump, at the direction of "the candidate" - a clear reference to Mr Trump. As Business Insider's senior politics reporter Allan Smith wrote this week, observers pointed to Allen Weisselberg, the Trump Organization's chief financial officer, as likely to be one of the two.

There is no indication their cooperation extends beyond the scope of the Cohen probe.

Michael Cohen leaves a U.S. Federal Court building in Manhattan on Tuesday.

The White House has said Trump also denied having sex with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford.

Cohen pleaded guilty to campaign-finance violations and other charges on Tuesday.
