Set at the backdrop of India winning its first gold medal in hockey as a free nation in the 1948 Summer Olympics, the film promises to be yet another big one from Akki. It earned Rs 9.03 crore yesterday, bringing its total collection to Rs 46.65 crore.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Satyameva Jayate made Rs 20.52 crore on first day.

"The business of Gold is Rs. 55 crore nett plus in four days which is decent but 45% of that business has come on day one with was the national holiday for Independence Day", Box Office India reported. "Yes, the box office is on fire". That's a strong showing for a vigilante drama considering it released with another patriotic Independence Day week offering - Akshay Kumar's Gold, which opened with Rs 25.25 crore on Wednesday and has crossed the Rs 50-crore mark with its Saturday earning. Though, both the movies recorded fantastic opening day collections, there was a huge decline in the footfalls for both the films on day two.

Bollywood Khiladi Akshay Kumar's latest sports drama "Gold" has managed to hit the bull's eye at the Box Office.

A report on Box Office India suggests that the Milap Zaveri directotial managed to rake in Rs 7.25 crore at the box office on day four of its release. Just like Sholay-Jai Santoshi Maa and Lagaan-Gadar, the clash between Gold and Satyameva Jayate has sent the cash registers ringing. But Gold has beaten his highest opening day collections so far, that of Singh Is Bliing (Rs 16.98 crore).
