Kelvin Benjamin and Cam Newton exchange words before game

AJ McCarron Josh Allen rank dead last in PFF QB rankings

In fact, things may have escalated.

Earlier this week, Kelvin Benjamin had a bunch to say about the Carolina Panthers, most notably Cam Newton, who he had as his quarterback during his 1st three and a half National Football League seasons.

When it became clear Benjamin wasn't over their squabbling, Newton ushered away a Bills player for privacy, but Benjamin walked away from the conversation.

Benjamin's comments with The Athletic brought the conflict into the spotlight.

Newton later waved off Benjamin in apparent frustration before the two parted ways for the remainder of warmups.

The Carolina Panthers have spent roughly the past three weeks in training camp preparing for the upcoming season. "It just felt like I wasn't in that position". He responded on social media in his Instagram story.

Benjamin, who said he would have been more successful if he was drafted by Carolina and had a "quarterback with knowledge", brushed the encounter aside after Carolina won the preseason meeting 28-23. That may not be the case anymore, as Newton didn't seem able to say what he wanted when approaching Benjamin in-person. As well, Andrew Luck will return from last year's season-ending injury in Indianapolis at Seattle (-2) and Deshaun Watson will do the same as his Houston Texans are 2.5-point road underdogs against the Kansas City Chiefs.
