Community Members Call For Brooklyn Nail Salon To Close Following Brawl

Brooklyn nail salon workers beat customer over ‘botched’ eyebrow

"They can not survive and we can not feed them", Johnson said at the protest, according to a Facebook video.

"So I'm at the nail salon and they.[expletive]. up a lady eyebrow and she refused to pay then a fight broke outttt", she wrote, including the salon's address.

Dozens of protestors gathered outside the salon Monday afternoon demanding the business be closed, and asking that locals take their business elsewhere. Nail salon worker Li Lin claims that Thomas punched and slapped her in the face, and dragged her on the floor, causing lacerations to the face and substantial neck pain.

Customer Christina Thomas was booked on misdemeanour assault and other charges. She was released on her own recognizance after a hearing at Brooklyn Criminal Court, according to the Post. The woman being hit is beaten on the back as she walks out of the salon.

Protests intensified at the Brooklyn nail salon where a worker and a customer were arrested and charged for their involvement in a violent altercation over a $5 botched eyebrow job. According to the New York Post, Huiyue Zheng was charged with assault and weapon possession. The black women and the nail salon employees start pushing and shoving each other, causing the scene to devolve into chaos as one manicurist picks up a chair and begins swinging it.

Shamile Smiley McBroom added, "Video of a grandmother and patrons being hit with brooms does not deserve service".

According to the New York Daily News, police are also looking to arrest a second employee who allegedly threw liquid on the customers.

Meanwhile, the Facebook page for New Red Apple Nail salon has been flooded with negative reviews and backlash over the incident.

The Washington Post reports the incident has intensified racial tensions.

Those who use public services might usually think they're right, but - in reality - it's far more likely that the person who spends every day working there has a better idea of what's correct or not.

Demonstrators angrily chanted, "shut them down", "f-k the police" and "no nails, no toes, these racist shops have got to go". "We will come, we will picket it and we'll do whatever we have to close your store down". One sign read "Black $$$ Matter".
