On Friday, North Korea returned the suspected remains of more than 50 United States soldiers killed during the Korean War, taking a step in implementing the June agreement. Mr Trump later said North Korea was "no longer a nuclear threat".
North Korea is reportedly making new missiles in the same factory that produced the country's first intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of targeting the United States of America, senior U.S. intelligence sources claim.
The repatriation is a breakthrough in a long-stalled US effort to obtain war remains from North Korea.
Many Americans who went missing were prisoners of war who died before the war ended or were left behind during enemy advancements.
On Tuesday, North and South Korea held their second round of military talks since June, when the first such meeting took place at the border village of Panmunjom in the demilitarized zone (DMZ), where the two sides pledged to halt "all hostile acts".
This spring, however, Trump took a vastly different approach in his dealings with his North Korean counterpart, leading to the "epochal" summit in Singapore in which North Korean denuclearization was agreed upon.
Still, the initial field forensic review indicated the "remains are what North Korea said they were", Byrd said.
North Korea may want to use the remains' return to keep diplomacy with the United States alive and win a reciprocal USA concession. The North Koreans aren't puttering around with new missiles for their health.
North and South Korea are among the 45 countries participating in this year's Asian Games.
