LeBron Breaks His Silence About Joining The Lakers

LeBron James reveals why he joined Lakers in free agency

About 240 third- and fourth-graders will attend classes this first year, with enrollment set to expand to 1,000 students in grades 1 through 8 by 2022, according to Cleveland TV station WEWS.

His LeBron James Family Foundation partnered with Akron Public Schools to design the school for public school students in the area who come from hard circumstances.

I Promise School also offers a resource centre for parents who want to finish school; and it includes mentoring and job-search assistance for parents. "And for it all to come to fruition at this point, I think timing is everything".

Carrie said some of his teammates have discussed ways in which they can help others.

"I know these kids, basically, better than they know themselves", says James in a personal statement on his multimedia platform UNINTERRUPTED on both the school and joining the Lakers. He started off with a moving speech about how connected he feels to Akron, and why he made a decision to focus on opening a school to begin with.

Downtown Akron's Summitt Cycling Center and the Bike Kitchen also has an arrangement with the I Promise School for students to bring their bikes there to be fixed and maintained. "People always ask me, why a school?"

"For kids, in general, all they want to know is that someone cares", James explained. "If they had no one, I mean, I believe there's some people out there, I hope. I know all the nightmares that they have, because I've been there".

In a video he released Sunday on his "Uninterrupted" Facebook page, James spoke about the connection he feels to the children of northeast OH, and the pride he feels in opening this school.

"It's not really a normal day with LeBron James in your first day of school, but it will be pretty exciting today".

The NBA great admitted to having "jitters" before the opening, an event he said is "going to be one of the greatest moments — if not the greatest — of my life". "This skinny kid from Akron who missed 83 days of school in the 4th grade had big dreams".

"We are in a position right now in America, more importantly, where this race thing has taken over".
