In her YouTube documentary released previous year called Demi Lovato, Simply Complicated, she openly discusses her cocaine use and battles with alcohol. According to reports, Demi was unconscious when she was discovered at around 11.30 a.m. on July 24 and the 911 call was placed. TMZ says Lovato refused to tell paramedics what drug she took, but it's believed she overdosed on some sort of opioid.

Demi Lovato is said to be suffering "complications" following her alleged overdose and is being kept in hospital.

While another a second source told E! The singer has been in the hospital for nearly a week, and the doctors are still not sure when it will be safe for her to go home. "Demi's team has been down this path with her before and, although hesitant at first, she agreed to go to rehab. She's been in a downward spiral ever since and has not been doing well", the insider shared.

"This time, Demi didn't listen and Phil chose to part ways with her", the source added. "She's been heavily using and her friends have been very anxious that this was going to happen".

Fortunately, however, 'She is under the care of medical experts and is expected to make a full recovery, ' but that does not change the fact that she is still not allowed to return home in her condition.

"Wilmer has spent hours at the hospital with Demi every day", a source said.

Another person in Lovato's corner is actor Wilmer Valderrama, an ex-boyfriend, who has reportedly remained by her side during her recovery.

But while Demi is shown an outpouring of love, her backup dancer and close friend Dani Vitale has been the subject of many fans" ire, as it was her birthday the "Sober' singer was out celebrating the Monday night before the incident.
