Pyongyang urges Seoul to help it end Korean War

Lindsey Graham warns Trump he's being

According to the report, North Korea feels it has held up its end of the deal agreed in Singapore by freezing missile and nuclear testing, destroying a nuclear site and planning the repatriation of war remains of USA service members.

Trump and Kim also agreed to the "building of a lasting and robust peace regime on the Korean Peninsula", including the providing of "security guarantees" to North Korea.

After talks between the US and North Korea hit a speed bump earlier this month, the North Korean foreign ministry signaled that it may halt negotiations pertaining to its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile development programs.

The steep economic downturn comes as analysts highlight the need for the isolated country to shift towards economic development, moves that were announced by leader Kim Jong-un in April.

North Korea is putting pressure on the administration of US President Donald Trump to begin lifting sanctions, according to the official, believing they have done "so much" by freezing nuclear and missile testing, destroying one of their nuclear sites, and facilitating the upcoming repatriation of US service members' war remains.

North Korea officials accused the United States of having a "gangster-like mindset" after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo traveled to the nation to hold nuclear talks.

After a flurry of activity earlier in the year, there had been signs recently that ongoing denuclearisation talks between the United States and North Korea were going slower than anticipated.

Trump has expressed his outrage at the media coverage of the Singapore summit on Twitter claiming that the media is not giving him enough credit for his success. Kim unilaterally announced a moratorium on long-range missile launches, pleasing Trump, but has pointedly said nothing about the mid-range missiles that concern Japan the most.

South Korea has requested an exception to North Korea sanctions to boost its recent efforts to promote inter-Korean exchanges.

"Dismantling test infrastructure, especially for space launch vehicles, does not change this calculation". Only the Opposition Party, which includes the Fake News, is complaining.

But in the days and weeks since then, US negotiators have faced stiff resistance from a North Korean team practiced in the art of delay and obfuscation.

The U.S. Department of State, the Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) co-authored the advisory.

In the lead up to Trump's face-to-face meeting with Kim, the U.S. president showed his masterful deal making skills in action.

In a commentary on Saturday, the Rodong Sinmun said the issue could negatively affect the reunions and inter-Korean relations as well.

However, WaPo reports that Trump complained about the lack of progress in a meeting with his aides.
