To mark the occasion, the royal family posed for official portraits at Clarence House, home to Charles, Prince of Wales and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall.

Kensington Palace's Instagram account released four photos taken by Matt Holyoak with Will, Kate, their three children and other members of the Royal Family.

"I hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs".

Louis was sound asleep as he was carried into the Chapel Royal by Kate for the christening ceremony which lasted 40 minutes.
