Even with its first big Emmy contender not in the running after HOC's final season was delayed (and nearly derailed) by inappropriate behavior allegations against original star Kevin Spacey, Netflix still led the network pack this year with a total of 112 nominations, up from 91 last year and 54 in 2016.
Comparatively, not one of the 10 most nominated shows this year comes from Netflix, showing that there's plenty of award-worthy entertainment across the platform - not just genre nominated shows like Stranger Things and Black Mirror, but also the likes of Ozark, Godless, Glow, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and The Crown.
"HBO is very pleased with its 108 nominations, especially the wide range over so many categories", the network said in a statement.
Some of TV's biggest stars, as well as headline-grabbing shows, failed to get nominations this year. Hulu's "The Handmaid's Tale" comes in second with 20 nominations. That's because the streaming giant put an end to the premium cable channel's 17-year streak of garnering the most total nominations.
The drama missed the awards in 2017 because of its production schedule but this year's nominations include nods for cast members Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage.
