Susan Rice slams Trump for 'disgraceful statement' about Russian Federation at G7

Donald Trump calls for end to Russian expulsion from G7 grouping

"As for Russia's return to the G7, G8 - we never left it", he said. He has pleaded for the re-admission of Russian Federation into the G7 group from which Russian Federation was expelled in 2014 after Moscow annexed Crimea from the Ukraine.

He also voiced Beijing's strong opposition to Washington's unilateral move to withdraw from the nuclear accord and re-impose sanctions on Tehran, emphasizing that the remaining signatories must fulfill their commitments under the JCPOA.

Putin said the bloc's new counterterrorism agreement foresees joint drills, exchanging information and conducting coordinated anti-terror action. Founded in 2001, it was originally conceived as a vehicle for resolving border issues, fighting terrorism and - more implicitly - to counter American influence in Central Asia after its invasion of Afghanistan.

Putin said he shares Trump's expression of concern about a renewed arms race expressed in a March phone call.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also criticised the USA for its withdrawal, claiming the decision could potentially destabilise the situation.

He said he did not discuss a possible meeting venue with Trump but "many" countries including Austria were keen to help in organising such a summit.

"Russia should be in this meeting", Trump told reporters before leaving the White House South Lawn for Canada, where the summit is being held.

In an address at the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, Rouhani said the U.S. has been trying to impose its policies on others countries which was a kind of warning for all the major powers. Ignoring the resentment of his European allies, Trump sticks to his stand: "All of these countries have been taking advantage of the United States on trade".

The Russian government's representative in Crimea, Georgy Muradov, extended an invitation to Salvini to visit the occupied peninsula, the Kremlin-controlled TASS news outlet reported.

Putin noted that Russian Federation and China have emphasized the need for talks to reduce tensions.

"I agree with him, and to have a meaningful discussion, our ministries of foreign affairs and experts should get involved and work closely together, and of course a meeting in person is necessary", Putin said to reporters at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Qingdao, China.

Addressing the 18th summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on Sunday in Qingdao, China, President Hassan Rouhani described the United States' move to impose its own policies on others as a growing threat, saying "unilateral sanctions damage the process of legal global business".

Putin says Washington's decision to exit the agreement could "destabilize the situation" in the region.

However, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday that his country will not keep to European promises and demands that the European Union clarifies its stance on the 2015 nuclear deal sooner.
