2 injured, one in custody following shooting at Indiana middle school

Noble West Middle School

WISH TV also reported that students at the scene had heard several shots, but they weren't sure whether they originated inside or outside the building.

Jowitt said the situation was "resolved extremely quickly", and the student was taken into custody.

Superintendent of Noblesville Schools, Dr. Beth Niedermeyer, said parents are now able to pick up their students at any of the schools, but the schools will also have a regular dismissal for students who are staying in school.

Jeremy Seaman, the older brother of Jason Seaman, the teacher who intervened in Friday morning's school shooting at Noblesville West Middle School, said his brother was shot three times and was undergoing surgery Friday.

The shooting at the 1,350-student school happened a day before everyone was headed for a three-day Memorial Day holiday weekend.

"He took about four to five, maybe six shots, one of them hitting a girl that was about ten feet from me", the student told WXIN. IN police told WLFI they were "sending everyone" to the scene.

Police were monitoring the situation and there is no evidence to suggest the threat is credible, Jowitt said. She said no information was available on their conditions. A male student confessed to a shooting that killed 10 people and injured 13 at Santa Fe High School in Santa Fe, Texas, on May 18.

Jowitt said he did not believe there was any further threat to the school but added there was a threat directed to Noblesville High School, where many middle school students were bused to following the incident.

A teacher and a student were wounded Friday morning, when another student opened fire inside a middle school near Indianapolis. Please keep the thoughts and prayers coming.
