Battlefield V Pre Order Guide - Get Early Access, Cosmetics, Assignments, and More

Battlefield 2

They cover multiple game modes, take place over multiple maps, and they're all wrapped up in a four-day narrative journey that covers historical moments from World War II.

Battlefield 5 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Players that pre-order any edition of the "Battlefield V" game with the "Battlefield V" Enlister Offer will get early access to the game's open beta and other in-game benefits including soldier customization options, access to Special Assignments starting at launch week and immediate access to five weapons to use in "Battlefield 1", EA announced during the game's unveiling Wednesday.

As for any tidbits about characters or settings, we mostly have speculation. Interestingly there will be no premium pass, all players will have access to the same maps and modes, keeping the community unified as they progress through Battlefield V. There will not be paid for "loot boxes", just some cosmetic items to purchase in game for currency/cash. Tides of War, they call it, will give you different World War II experience every few months, starting with the fall of Europe.

Single player mode will see a return of the War Stories format that was popular with Battlefield 1 players. Called Combined Arms, you will be able to squad up with your mates to play through missions as the Pathfinders, paratroopers that go behind enemy lines without any support. With a mode that so clearly leads the current gaming zeitgeist, it comes as a surprise that the reveal stream for Battlefield V didn't even mention battle royale. Ultimately, the current popularity surrounding the gameplay type could potentially lose momentum and favor with fans as time marches on, which would cause developers to have unnecessarily dedicated time and resources to the mode if the studio made a decision to move ahead with its addition. While visually impressive, the trailer was a mix of CGI and heavily scripted gameplay. In fact, a whole lot of details, in general, weren't really talked about. A 30-minute reveal event that lightly touches on some of the new game modes, doesn't get into specific gameplay features and only shows one brief trailer does little to get me excited. Hopefully, DICE redeems themselves at E3 next month.
