Woods to play British Open at Carnoustie

Tiger Woods of the United States plays a shot from a bunker during practice rounds prior to THE PLAYERS Championship on the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass

Tiger Woods faces an anxious wait to see if he has made the halfway cut at The Players Championship after firing a one-under 71. Woods won seven of those events, Mickelson two, with Tiger holding a 69.66 to 69.88 scoring edge, as per Woods' official site. Mickelson shot an even-par 72, while Woods shot 66 and won the tournament the next day.

They were last in the same group four years ago, but Mickelson sensed a chance to poke fun at the hype surrounding the pairing. To sit here, I know that it's been about a year.

"Once he fixes a couple things, I think he's still not real happy with the way he's putting from what he tells me".

"Rory (McIlroy) is committed to helping build the strongest field we can get and I am sure he has taken the time to chat with the guys on the PGA Tour informally".

Tiger Woods will be heading overseas for the second major of the year in July.

"The US Open is coming up next so players' schedules are not yet decided".

Tiger Woods' weekend plans were as unstable as his iron play Friday. What they got was more of the same, including an uneventful one-under 71 from Woods that didn't look or feel like the improvement it was on the leader board for the 14-time major victor.

Their surprise practice round together at Augusta ahead of the Masters set tongues wagging about golf's new bromance. "I was playing better than that".

The Open, which will be held at Carnoustie in July, announced Woods' entry into the event in a press release on Wednesday night.

"It was the most remarkable golf in the history of the game, and I think unrepeatable. I feel like they're tough to read but today I felt like I did a very good job reading the greens", Johnson said.

"And it sucked to have to play against him". His tee shot landed just right of the small pot bunker in front of the green and started spinning back. "They were into it early", Woods said. It's been either way for our entire careers. From there, he played a bold shot, slicing one from the pine straw to just left of the green.

Mickelson, the 2007 Players champion, rubbished the idea a freakish, long sleeve button up which resembled a business shirt had any affect on his play. Instead, he became the seventh player to share the record of 9-under 63 and first since Colt Knost in the second round in 2016.

"If I find myself in a similar position to win on the last hole this year, I'd trust my Wilson Staff clubs to get me over the line again", said Padraig.
