SpaceX Launches Bangabandhu Satellite 1 on Its Powerful Rocket Falcon 9

SpaceX PAZ Starlink Falcon 9

The Falcon 9 Block 5 carried Bangladesh's first geostationary communications satellite toward orbit on Friday.

The launch in Cape Canaveral, telecast live, was welcomed in Bangladesh, with experts saying it will serve as a milestone in the telecommunication sector.

A Bangladesh delegation, led by Prime Minister's ICT Affairs Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy, witnessed the launching of the satellite, which was visible for around seven minutes in the Florida's clear sky.

Development of the satellite programme, known as the "Bangabandhu Satellite Launching Project", was managed by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) with technical support from Space Partnership International (SPI), SpaceX said in a press statement.

She also thanked Russian Federation for renting its orbital slot to Bangladesh.

The rocket is created to require far less maintenance and refurbishment between flights, and is certified to carry humans to space later this year when SpaceX launches its Dragon crew capsule to the International Space Station.

Bangabandhu-1, named after the nickname of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founding father of Bangladesh, was launched into its orbital slot on 119.1 degrees east longitude. A last-minute abort halted Thursday's try. Insane hard. We still need to demonstrate it.

Where space travel goes from there, only time will tell. This new and improved model will be used to launch astronauts for NASA in the coming year. Additionally, numerous small changes will help streamline recovery and re-usability of first-stage boosters. There has been a fair amount of maintenance between uses.

SpaceX's Block 5 rocket blasted-off successfully on Friday afternoon. Those modifications could make designers much easier to recondition its initial stage for even more trips. Moments later, the second stage cut its burn.

The "Block 5" is the newest version of the Falcon 9 rocket and also the last one that SpaceX will ever produce. It's now recovered boosters back on land or sea 25 times. Falcon 9 Block 5 is created to be capable of "10 or more flights with very limited refurbishment", according to SpaceX.

SpaceX has return-landed 2 4 of its own boosters and reflown 11 of them.

Bangabandhu-1 is now on its way to orbit after its successful launching, making Bangladesh's debut in the global space society.

SpaceX boss Elon Musk said Block 5 will be the last major upgrade to the Falcon series, and any changes in future will be incidental and minor. The Heavy debuted in February, launching Musk's Tesla electric sports vehicle toward the orbit of Mars. The other is Boeing Co.
