Microsoft Edge is a redesigned version of Internet Explorer. The program comprises grants, technology investments and expertise, and will also incorporate AI for Accessibility innovations into Microsoft Cloud services. "Today on an iPhone or iPad, Microsoft Edge browsing sessions are included in the Timeline experience on a Windows 10 PC", Microsoft said in a press release. IoT Edge, as well as Windows 10 IoT and Azure Machine Learning, will also soon support hardware-accelerated model evaluation with DirextX 12 GPU, which is available in virtually every modern Windows PC. Kubernetes support is an obvious one and a smart addition, given that it will allow developers to build Kubernetes clusters that can span both the edge and a more centralized cloud.
IoT Edge is also getting a number of other updates that don't directly involve machine learning.
The new Project Kinect for Azure reintroduces the sensor with a brand new objective; it is designed for AI developers to create tools on the cloud-based Azure platform. Microsoft says the cameras will be able to run Azure services including machine learning and cognitive services by downloading them and running them locally, without a connection to the cloud.
