Tom Hardy Debuts New 'Venom' Trailer at CinemaCon

10 Best MCU Heroes

So says Tom Hardy in the first full-length trailer for Venom, which debuted during Sony's CinemaCon presentation on Monday. Between all the corporate intrigue and action and whatever else is going on in this trailer, Venom looks like he's got plenty on his plate already.

A rep for Sony declined to comment. Venom stars Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Jenny Slate, Reid Scott and Scott Haze, with Ruben Fleischer directing. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing along with Amy Pascal, with Palak Patel and Eric Fineman overseeing for Columbia Pictures. The film has been directed by Ruben Fleischer, and is now in post-production, ahead of its October 5 release date.

We don't now know when the trailer will officially drop, but with Avengers: Infinity War coming later this week, it's safe to assume we'll see it then. What's more, the costume looks as grotesque as the leak made it look, especially as it declares, "We are Venom". Hello?" wrote one fan, while another said, "How can you tease the movie without showing the character? The point is, Sony got the ball rolling on the movie, cast the brilliant Tom Hardy (Bane in The Dark Knight Rises) in the titular role, and began filming without involving the webhead himself. It looks like the movie will see Hardy as a journalist facing off against the mad scientist, Dr Carlton Drake who wants to experiment on people with these symbiotes.

But in 2018's Venom, the film presents a much different kind of Venom - an anti-hero, and one operating without the opposing force and presence of Spider-Man.
