Seahawks postpone Colin Kaepernick visit, QB declined to stop anthem kneeling

Kaepernick won't stop kneeling?

Seattle Times' Seahawks reporter Bob Condotta also said Seattle spoke with Kaepernick, but added the team hasn't ruled him out as an option moving foward.

The day after his scheduled workout with the Seahawks, Kaepernick sat for his deposition administered by NFL attorneys in NY regarding the league's alleged attempts to conspire to keep him out of the league. It occurs to me that telling a guy he can't work out for you until he promises to stop kneeling during the anthem might not be helpful to the league's defense.

I had heard previous year that Kaepernick said he'd stop kneeling in order to play with a team, but maybe that's not true.

Also notable? While the Bengals and Seahawks both balked at signing two outspoken and peaceful protesters, neither team batted an eye before signing players with a history of domestic violence in the past.

"After hours of careful consideration, and even a visit from Nate Boyer, a retired Green Beret and former N.F.L. player, we came to the conclusion that we should kneel, rather than sit, the next day during the anthem as a peaceful protest".

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media confirmed the cancellation by the Seahawks, but said it was not because of Kaepernick's declining to stand during the anthem, but rather a lack of "a firm plan" on "how to handle everything".

Apparently, they think so too as they have scheduled a visit with him. As Sports Illustrated noted, "for purposes of collusion analysis, Kaepernick's superior talent compared to some National Football League quarterbacks doesn't-by itself-prove anything".

The Seattle Seahawks might have been eyeing Colin Kaepernick to back up Russell Wilson this season, but any plans to move forward have now been put on hold.

"The NFL should have suspended him for one game and he would have never done it again", Trump told Sean Hannity last October.

Several depositions have already taken place, including Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome and head coach John Harbaugh.

Reid previously wrote on Twitter that his activism was affecting his search for a new team.
