Sarah Jessica Parker Reacts to Cynthia Nixon's Run for New York Governor

They've been friends for many years, so it's no wonder that Sarah Jessica Parker has officially endorsed her former "Sex and the City" co-star Cynthia Nixon's run for governor of NY.

Parker, 53, shared an Instagram photo of Nixon, 51, on Thursday, March 29, to express her support for her friend.

Kim Cattrall, who portrayed Samantha Jones on "SATC", also tweeted her support of Nixon stating, "I respect & support any former colleague's choice to make their own career choices". "I'm a proud public school graduate", she said. Davis tweeted her support stating, "I know that she would be an excellent governor", and that she is, "excited to support someone I have known for 20 years to be one of the most intelligent and caring people in my life!"

Thankfully for Nixon, this is not the first endorsement from a former cast mate-but it's better than co-star Kim Cattrall's comments.

The New York gubernatorial election may still be months away, but Cynthia Nixon has already locked down three votes - those of her Sex and the City castmates. The pair ran into each other at a shoot for T Magazine, and Nixon took to Instagram to celebrate the occasion. Her campaign video showed her with her young son Max as she talks about being a proud public school parent. "Running for Governor of our great state", the Divorce actress captioned the post.

"New York is where I was raised and where I'm raising my kids", she said in an ad announcing her candidacy.

Cuomo is fighting for $550 million in state funding for the New York City Housing Authority. I've never wanted to live anywhere else.

Nixon will oppose current New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in the upcoming Democratic Primary. But Cuomo won't try outflanking her there: The campaign donations are too sweet.
