Both the Vivo X21 and X21 UD share similar specifications except for the under display fingerprint sensor which is only present in X21 UD.
This combination of a bezel-less screen (with a notch) and an in-display fingerprint scanner is what the iPhone X could have put on the table had the technology been available at the time of its launch.
Previously, the Vivo V9 had been listed on the company's official site which also showed the integration of AI and (augmented reality) AR based tech into the phone. The normal X21 has a fingerprint sensor at the back, while the X21 UD, as mentioned earlier, has an under-the-display sensor. Up front, it houses a 12-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and an IR fill light for facial recognition through Face Wake 2.0. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, coupled with an Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB inbuilt storage options. These specs, later removed, revealed that the smartphone comes with a 6.3-inch screen with 19:9 aspect ratio and 2280 x 1080 resolution.
Camera: 12MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, a secondary 5MP camera with f/2.4 aperture and 12MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The VivoX21 is priced at CNY 2,898 (approximately Rs 29,900) for the 64GB variant and CNY 3,198 (approximately Rs 33,000) for the 128GB variant. It will go on sale from 24 March and 28 March respectively.
Battery: 3200mAh (typical) battery with fast charging. The Snapdragon 660processor comes with a dedicated AI chip, which lets the rear camera to use AI for scene recognition, which can detect 17 scenes automatically. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, 3G and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Moreover, as seen in the leaks, the VivoX21 appears to feature a display notch at the top center of the Super AMOLED panel. A microSD card slot is also available for expandable storage (up to 256GB). It runs the latest Android 8.1 but with Vivo's Funtouch OS customization. Both the front and rear cameras support beauty mode and AR stickers.
