Trump's 'vulgarity' toward Chuck Todd 'not a good look — Fox's Kurtz

Earlier on Saturday Trump had claimed that the'fake news had changed their response to his newly announced meeting with North Korea

He called an African-American congresswoman a "very low-IQ individual" and bashed the moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press" as a "sleeping son of a bitch".

"I'll be with my kids this morning", Mnuchin said. "He's a sleeping son of a b**ch". On the show, Trump called for an aggressive policy towards North Korea.

Todd initially responded with a tongue-and-cheek remark on Twitter. "He's using these vulgarities in the context of a campaign rally and obviously there were a lot of amusing moments on, on, on that rally", Mnuchin responded, prompting Todd to reply: "Yeah, they were hilarious". His statement was made during a Sunday interview with Washington DC NBC affiliate News 4.

"These are campaign rally issues", Mnuchin said.

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin has dismissed criticism of President Trump's use of "vulgarities" when attacking his opponents. "He's using those vulgarities in the context of a campaign rally".

"Yeah, they were hilarious", the host quipped sarcastically.

While Todd did not refer to the president's insult specifically, he did refer more vaguely to "vulgarity" used by Trump.

Todd responded Sunday to the president by saying that he doesn't allow his children to "to say anything negative, ever, about the president".

"I think the president of the United States has every right to hit back against Chuck Todd or anyone else if he thinks that he has said something or reported something that is unfair or untrue", Kurtz said.

Former Congressman Joe Walsh also went online to express his opinion on the matter.

"For a long time, he used to call me up and be upset because I wasn't taking the idea of him running for president seriously in 2011", Todd said.

Todd, however, did not appear to agree.

Todd winked at the dustup in a tweet last night promoting this morning's broadcast.

Mnuchin accused Todd of putting words in his mouth. He also said that Todd was not a journalist, but rather "another Democrat.trying to manipulate the people into hating a great POTUS". For those who have been supportive of Trump's administration, the president has returned the favor. "Democrats only like free speech when it applies to them", he tweeted.
