Two exit polls have predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party will dethrone the 25-year-old Left Front government in Tripura and consolidate its position in Meghalaya and Nagaland. The UDP-HSPDP likely to bag 8-12 seats and 8.8. per cent vote share, while others may get 5-9 seats and a vote share of 8.7 per cent, the poll said.
CVoter too claimed a victory for the NDPP-BJP In Nagaland with 25-31 seats with 38.4 per cent vote share and gave the NPF 19-25 seats with a vote share of 27.1 per cent. Some of the key contestants are chief minister TR Zeliang (NPF), former CM KL Chishi (BJP), retired chief secretary Alemtemshi Jamir (NDPP). In Nagaland, the BJP would contest the polls in alliance with the newly-formed National Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) led by former chief minister Neiphiu Rio.
Meanwhile, re-polling in six booths - Dhanpur, Sonamura, Teliamura, Kadamtala-Kurti, Ampinagar and Sabroom Assembly constituencies - following accusations from the ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI (M) of improper election procedure, was held on Monday.

Ahead of the counting of votes in the state, the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have been deployed along the India-Bangladesh border.
The BJP, which is resolutely trying to make a "Congress-mukt Bharat", is eyeing both Meghalaya and Mizoram that will go to polls by the end of the year. "We replaced or rectified faulty EVM-VVPATs and voting resumed in those polling stations afterwards", said Additional Chief Electoral Officer Tapas Roy. Congress has fielded candidates only in 18 seats, while BJP is contesting in 20 seats.
A total of 292 candidates, including 23 women and many independents, are in the fray in the state. The Congress is predicted to win 13-17 seats with a voteshare of 21 per cent and others are likely to get 2 to 6 seats.
JanKiBaat-NewsX has predicted that an alliance of the BJP and the Indigenous Peoplé Front of Tripura will win 35-45 seats with a vote share of 51 per cent. In Tripura, the most wellknown candidate is chief minister Manik Sarkar. The other prominent candidates are Biplab Deb (BJP) and Birajit Sinha (Congress). Meghalaya has the exit polls giving neither of the three main contesting parties - Congress, BJP and the PA Sangma-founded National People's Party which is led by the late leader's son Conrad - a clear majority in the 60-member House.
The CVoter exit poll has predicted the ruling Congress suffering some setback with its tally coming down to 13-19 from 29 while the BJP is set to win 4-8 seats and around 16.5 per cent of vote share.
