Nokia Brings Back The 8110 - The Matrix Phone

Nokia is bringing back the Nokia 8110 feature phone, or popularly known as the "Banana Phone".

The company said that the stainless steel frame of the new Nokia 8 Sirocco is 2.5 times stronger than 6000 series aluminum used in the predecessor, and it's also more size in the height, width, and thickness than the original.

The iconic Nokia 8110 has also been updated, delivering 4G connectivity, apps including Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Search, Facebook and Twitter, and the return of the slider phone.

It comes with the Smart feature OS, so don't expect it to run your android apps on it. "Think of us as distant cousins, not siblings nor children", stated the KaiOS website.

HMD Global is also continuing efforts to break into the wildly competitive smartphone market with four new Android-based handsets.

The new phone is a successor of 1996 Nokia and was features in 1999 famous movie "The Matrix".

Updated Nokia 8110 is a smartphone.

This has happened for all Nokia phones (except the Nokia 6 2018 which jumped directly to a stable version of Oreo), where a beta version is rolled out first for testing purposes before the stable version comes out a few weeks later.

It will be available starting April at a global average retail price of 749 euros. With a pure Android installation, Nokia smartphones come with no unnecessary UI changes or hidden processes that would eat up battery life or slow them down. It sports a 2.45-inch QVGA (240x320 pixels) display, and is powered by a 1.1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 SoC, coupled with 512MB of LPDDR3 RAM.

Although the battery is 1500mAh - pretty small for 2018 smartphones - this is a feature phone so doesn't guzzle power in the same way.

Nokia launched its own camera application in 2013 for Windows Phones and Microsoft later rebranded the application to the Lumia Camera. There's also 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but no support for microSD cards. In addition to an enhanced dual-sight, the Nokia 8 Sirocco features ZEISS optics coupled with an advanced Nokia spatial audio acoustic speaker system.

The phone is bundled with a revamped version of the iconic Snake game.

The New Nokia 6 doesn't have the dual-camera setup of the Honor 7X either and, instead, has a 16-megapixel snapper on the rear. In fact, Nokia says it will last a whopping 25 days on standby.
