The first thing you will realize as soon as you pick up the Zenfone 5 is that it's an unapologetic ripoff of Apple's iPhone X right from the rounded corners to the notch to the camera placements. Yes, it's a notch and it looks an terrible lot like the one on the iPhone X. The phone caters to different users with the ZenFone 5, ZenFone 5Z and ZenFone 5 Lite. The latest addition to ASUS's rather confusing and big ZenFone family is the ZenFone Max Plus M1.

The 5Q packs a Snapdragon 630 processor and "only" 4GB RAM, launching in March at an unspecified price.

Specifically, the ZenFone 5 features a 6.2-inch LCD IPS display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) with ZenUI 5.0 and it will also get update of Android P next year. As we mentioned, it is available in two processor variants - the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 or octa-core Snapdragon 430 - coupled with up to 3GB of RAM.

The handset features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Asus yesterday night announced the launch of its new Zenfone 5 series. ASUS has not revealed the price of the Zenfone 5 neither has it announced a release date for both phones but when they go on sale, they will come with Hi-Res earphones in the box. This variant has the 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor with 1.4µm pixel size and the other 12MP sensor is a 120-degree wide-angle camera.

Asus has created their own Animoji-like feature which they are calling ZeniMoji which works exactly as Animoji except you can use in on live videos and it will event work with Facebook or Instagram's face filters. The Lite is powered by a 3300mAh battery and is available in three colors- Rouge Red, Moonlight White, and Midnight Black. The smartphone comes packed with several connectivity options like - 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The fingerprint sensor is positioned at the back below the camera lens.

The smartphone expected to be Asus ZenFone 5 bears a model name of X00PD.

Powering the Zenfone 5 is a Snapdragon 636 processor paired with 4GB or 6GB of ROM. Storage is 64GB on both variants but unlike the Zenfone 5 Lite, it doesn't have a dedicated MicroSD card slot. Just before you wake up, it then resumes charging so you can wake up to a full battery.

And they both run on Google's Android OS, which is a rival to Apple's iOS software for the iPhone. Being a high-end product, the Zenfone 5 features every bell and whistle from face unlock to an edge-to-edge screen. Despite the 6.2-inch display, the devices come with the form-factor of a 5.5-inch smartphone and are covered in metal and glass all around. A 3,300mAh non-removable battery is included inside of this smartphone and it is boosted by the ASUS BoostMaster and AI charging, says the company. As of yet there is no clear information on which model will hit the Indian shores.

The Asus ZenFone 5 Lite sports a dual rear camera setup with a primary 16MP f/2.2 aperture sensor with 80-degree FOV and a secondary 8MP, 120-degree wide-angle lens. An 8-megapixel shooter (f/2.0 aperture, PixelMaster camera modes) is placed on the front side of the ZenFone 5Z, while the device is capable of shooting 4K video at 60FPS with its main snapper.
