Turkish armed forces liberate 100 settlements from terrorists in Afrin

Kurdish Militia YPG to Deliver Syrian Army Neighborhoods in Aleppo

SANA's reporter said that artillery of the Turkish forces on Thursday targeted with more than 50 shells a convoy of buses, civilians' cars and trucks carrying aid and gas cylinders and fuel tanks near al-Ziyara village before they arrived in Afrin city.

The YPG accused Turkey of bombing a convoy of civilians that was crossing into Afrin to protest Turkey's offensive, leading to casualties.

Syrian state TV reported that insurgents fired 70 shells on Damascus, killing one person and wounding 60 others.

Earlier in the day, a Syrian security source told Sputnik that the Kurdish Self-Defense Forces (YPG) and the Syrian armed forces have agreed on the transfer of control over the town of Tell Rifaat in northern Aleppo province to the Syrian army, the government troops will enter the settlement in the next few hours. It denies hitting civilians during the offensive. "As always, utmost attention and care has been shown to not hurt civilians", Friday's statement added.

Earlier in the month, Turkey warned the U.S. that it was either make or break between the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation allies that have strained badly over the Turkish military assault in Syria.

In a statement, the New York-based group called on Turkey to thoroughly investigate these strikes and make the findings public.

"It appears that vulnerable civilians are facing displacement and death because of the way Turkey's latest offensive is being conducted", said Lama Fakih, deputy Middle East director at the USA -based group. The air strikes and shelling, on a cluster of tents, a poultry farm, and a house, killed 26 civilians, including 17 children, it said.

Since the onset of Syria's conflict in 2011, the YPG and its allies have carved out three autonomous cantons in the north.

This week, militias allied to Damascus deployed to Afrin to help fight the Turkish assault.

Reports that Turkish border forces have been shooting indiscriminately at fleeing Syrians led to HRW to issue an urgent plea to Turkey to end its use of "lethal force" against Syrian refugees, and to stop forcibly returning them back to the unsafe conditions from which they fled.

Ankara sees the YPG as an extension of the banned Kurdish PKK movement, which has waged a decades-long insurgency on Turkish soil.
