Election to the 60-member Tripura Assembly would be held on February 18.

"Tripura is now among top five states of the country in providing better health services and achieved best parameters in health indexes", added Sarkar.

"Congress is practically helping the CPI-M (Communist Party of India-Marxist) by splitting the non-Left vote share in Tripura".

Releasing its election manifesto here for the Tripura Assembly elections, AICC general secretary and Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanswamy brushed aside poll promises and claims made by the BJP and the Left.

The 28-pages Vision Document released by Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely here today swear 10 point commitments for the voters of the state. The BJP is contesting in 51 seats while its alliance partner Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) has fielded candidates in nine seats. He said a degree college would be set up in each constituency of the state to upgrade the education system.

Refuting the allegations of left front government of Tripura, Union finance minister stated that the central government is maintaining 90:10 ratio of funding pattern by and large in schemes for north eastern states and the allegations of depriving any particular state is absurd because norms and formula for devolution of fund for the states is well defined.

The senior BJP leader also announced that adequate number of multi-speciality hospitals and an AIIMS-like hospital would be set up in the state.

He said that after the BJP come to power in Tripura, it would do justice to the government employees by hiking the salaries as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, while talking steps for socio-economic and cultural development of the state's tribals.

The BJP president also accused CPM of resorting to violence against its party workers and said that there is an atmosphere of fear in the state.
