Vehicle hits median, launches into second floor of dental office

The white Nissan Altima was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on French Street when the accident occurred in the 300 block of E. 17th Street, Santa Ana Police said in a news release.

The impact sent the vehicle into the air and into the small office building.

The OFCA rescued the driver and passenger from the vehicle, according to the Police Department, and both suffered only minor injuries.

The driver, who admitted to using narcotics, was admitted to a local hospital for observation.

According to a spokesperson for Orange County Fire, the driver of the auto hit the center divider, c causing the vehicle to go airborne and land into the building.

LA County Fire removed the vehicle from the structure following an assessment of the integrity of the structure by Public Works.

A fire was quickly extinguished after the crash, officials said.
