Barcelona 'to launch £130m Philippe Coutinho bid this week'

Barcelona are plotting a fresh move for the Liverpool star after failing in the summer

To add an explosive amount of fuel to that fire, Nike's official website began to promote Barcelona shirts adorned with the "Magician's" name in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Barcelona will reportedly make a formal approach for Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho within the opening week of the January transfer window.

However, it seems that a deal between the clubs for Coutinho has been agreed after last night Nike mistakenly announced the transfer on the Barcelona section of their website.

IBTimes UK has contacted Nike, whose kit-manufacturing deal with Barcelona was extended previous year and is rumoured to be worth approximately £120m ($162m) per season, for comment.

Sport ES reported that Barcelona and Liverpool have a meeting set up for January 3.

But we're pretty-certain the name of one player will, until a deal is done, dominate the speculation, that of Philippe Coutinho.

"Philippe Coutinho is ready to light up Camp Nou", the website said.

Barcelona said they rejected the offer, which would have made Coutinho the second-most expensive footballer in history.

It's going to be a very, very interesting January transfer window...

It certainly got a lot of Liverpool fans discussing life after Coutinho.

Despite sitting in fourth place on the Premier League table, Neds have Liverpool at sixth favourite to win the FA Cup at $10.
