Billie Lourd honours Carrie Fisher as Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens

Carrie Fisher's final'Star Wars scenes hit too close to home for the Fisher family... TMZ has learned

The everlasting bond between Billie Lourd and her late mother, Carrie Fisher, is still so evident a year after Fisher's death, including in the tribute Lourd just posted for her mother in honor of the release of the industry icon's final film, Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Carrie died at home in Los Angeles on December 27, 2016 having suffered a cardiac arrest at the age of 60, just finishing filming her part in the movie. "We became like real siblings over the years". That was the very first question.

Some of them surprised even the character herself.

Gary served as Fisher's therapy dog. "For all of those reasons I felt really strongly that we had to let this fly".

When Johnson returned to work on The Last Jedi at the start of 2017, "the very first conversation" he had with Lucasfilm had to do with whether or not he'd make any adjustments or major changes to the film following her passing. "I know people are saying that I'm trying to capitalise".
