Mayor: Explosion Was Attempted Terror Attack
A suspect is in custody following an attempted terrorist attack in the subway station under the Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown Manhattan on Monday.

A male suspect has now been named as Akayed Ullah, 27, who was injured when a low tech device strapped to his body blew up in an underpass, officials say.
Four people were injured as a man set off an improvised explosive device at New York City's commuter hub during rush hour on Monday. He was stripped of his clothes to remove it. Fire officials said the suspect had burns to his hands and abdomen.
Despite it being rush-hour at the time of the explosion, only three people suffered minor injuries.
Preliminary information, according to two law enforcement sources, one local and one federal, indicates a pipe bomb may have unintentionally exploded.
New York City Police Department Deputy Commissioner John Miller informed the press conference on Monday that approximately 26 plots have been prevented through intelligence investigation in New York City since the 9/11 attacks in 2001. None of the other injuries were life-threatening.
"Let's be clear that this was an attempted terror attack", Mayor Bill de Blasio said.
The 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, N, Q, R, W and 7 lines are bypassing the Times Square station. "The reality turns out to be better than the initial expectation and fear", said New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo. "It was scary. It was just a lot of chaos but I didn't see any injuries".
A man was charged with killing eight people and injuring a dozen others as he drove a pickup truck down a bicycle path near the World Trade Center on Halloween.
The incident comes a few weeks after a deadly terror attack in Lower Manhattan. She also said the attack wouldn't intimidate her from returning to the city.
