So on this day, I remember my father and the rights of all humans across the world.
The Human Rights Institute of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Academy of Social Sciences on Saturday issued a white paper claiming North Korea defended human rights, based on a thorough study on the human rights situation on a worldwide scale for the past almost seven decades since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), monitored in Seoul, reported that the Human Rights Institute of the DPRK Academy of Social Sciences issued a white paper Saturday that attempts to "clarify who has defended human rights and who has violated them".
How can Human Rights exist when alternative economic and social models are sabotaged by the lobbies which dictate the policies of the FUKUS Axis (France-UK-US) as we saw in the case of the Jamahiriya in Libya which provided education, healthcare and housing and the highest Human Development Index in Africa, to be replaced with the chaos we see today? In 2017, Human Rights day observed a year-long campaign to mark the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of the Human rights which proclaimed rights of a human being such as colour, religion, race, sex, political and any other opinion, language, property and birth.
How can Human Rights exist when people are paid less or more just due to their gender, women being paid less 25 per cent because they are women, on a global scale? "The world would be a safer place if human rights were universally protected".
"We need to act to promote peace, fight back against discrimination and to uphold justice".
"Many in the USA still fail to view economic and social based rights - that includes health - as secondary to civil and political rights", says Muedini, who studies human rights, worldwide affairs and global justice. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948 (General Assembly resolution 217 A) as a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations.
The General Assembly adopted the declaration with 48 nations in favor and eight abstentions. But it has set in motion more than 60 treaties, laws and other protocols to assure freedoms. In 2008, gay rights activists in California urged people to call in "gay" to work to show support for equal rights. It is the auspicious day for everyone in this world because the Universal Declaration of Human Rights empowers all of us.
No voice is too small, no individual is too powerless.
