Bandit in 'bad wig' robs Bellagio casino in Las Vegas

Police: Poker cage at Bellagio robbed; suspect sought

Police are on the hunt for a man who robbed a poker cage at the Bellagio in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Actor James Woods says he witnessed a robbery at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas Tuesday night. The suspect was armed with a handgun, wearing a wig, and had a mask covering his face. The employees complied with the suspect's demands and handed him an undetermined amount of money.

Law enforcement officials in Las Vegas are investigating a reported robbery at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip - which caught the eye of actor James Woods, who was gambling at the time.

After receiving the money, the robber left through the north valet, where he had a silver Chevrolet Cruz parked and waiting. "He is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, between 5' 7" and 5' 9" tall, and weighing 160 to 170 pounds.

He added that the staff of the Bellagio "were fantastic".

But that person was said to not have cooperated with the suspect and helped police instead. They surrendered the money quietly, so no customers would get hurt. The vehicle has been recovered by LVMPD Robbery Section. Nobody even realized it was happening.

"We're very comfortable that we'll get some good leads and apprehend the individual", Metro Capt. John Pelletier said, citing video and photo evidence. "Excellent staff, cool under pressure", Woods tweeted.
