Back By Popular Demand: Jersey Shore Is Returning To MTV

The announcement aired during the aforementioned "Floribama Shore" premiere. Ortiz-Magro was more recently seen on the reality show "Famously Single", while Guadagnino went on to have two series of his own, "The Show With Vinny" on MTV and "Vinny & Ma East America" on the Cooking Channel.

Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola, who appeared in all six of the original seasons, was not mentioned in the press release.

The show will air on MTV in 2018, though it's unclear whether it will be a one-off special, a limited run, or an actual series added to MTV's lineup.

If this premise sounds a little like "Jersey Shore", that's because this show was created by "JS" creator/executive producer SallyAnn Salsano. However, it gave birth to a number of spin-off series, which was a big proof of its success. According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the network is bringing several members of the original Jersey Shore cast back for another go-round. Here, the cast relived the past and visited familiar places, shared their stories, and updated each other's lives. Just like the original show, there will be nonstop partying and drinking in the hottest beach in town.

Monday's 10 PM premiere of MTV's Jersey Shore follow-up Floribama Shore drew 846,000 total viewers in Live+Same Day with a 0.94 rating in the core adults 18-34 demo.
