Charlie Rose Accused of Sexual Harassment ... He Apologizes

Charlie Rose Accused of Sexual Harassment by Eight Women

United States talk show host Charlie Rose has been suspended by several television networks following allegations of sexual harassment. Rose's accusers were employees or "aspired to work for Rose at The Charlie Rose show' on PBS from the late 1990s to as recently as 2011".

CBS News President David Rhodes said there is nothing more important than assuring a safe, professional workplace.

Rose told the Post that he was "deeply embarrassed" and apologized for his behavior.

"I have held him in such high regard, and I'm really struggling, because what do you say when someone that you deeply care about has done something that is so frightful?" A former intern said Rose groped her breasts and stomach during a auto ride.

Their allegations of Rose's groping, lewd phone calls and his walking around naked in their presence are laid out in a lengthy article published Monday.

"I've held him in such high regard", she said, "and I'm really struggling, because how do you - what do you say when someone that you deeply care about has done something that is so awful?"

On her show on Tuesday, the TV anchor responded to the accusations against Charlie Rose with her own disappointing story involving the veteran journalist.

Rose has been one of three hosts of "CBS This Morning" since 2012 and is also a contributor to "60 Minutes".

SUNY Oswego says it is considering revoking Charlie Rose's honorary degree after the longtime news anchor was accused of sexual misconduct by more than a dozen women.

"By the time he touched me the first time, he was already very angry", she told the Post.

King has not yet spoken to Rose about the allegations but said, "I intend to speak to him certainly later today". "It is crushing. I deeply regret not helping them".

"I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate", said Rose. The "Post" reported that the women's allegations had similar trends - that Rose would put his hand on their legs to gauge their reactions, walk out of the shower naked in front of them on a business trip or at his house, or grope them.

"I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realise I was mistaken", he added, saying he had "come to a profound new respect for women and their lives".
