Valkyria Chronicles 4 announced and going back to basics

Valkyria Chronicles 4 Has Been Announced For Nintendo Switch

Chronicles 4 continues Sega's plan to introduce the world of Valkyria to the world at large. The game has also been confirmed for a Western release on PS4, Switch, and Xbox One some time in 2018, and, if the localisation process of Valkyria Revolution is any indication, it should be expected around August or September.

The continent of Europa is engulfed in the flames of the Second Europan War between the Atlantic Federation and the Autocratic Eastern Imperial Alliance.

But this game focuses on a totally new aspect of casting main characters, as said by the Sega in a press release.

Expect the same turn-based strategy RPG mixed with third-person shooting gameplay, arty watercolour anime visuals and another score from Hitoshi Sakimoto. It follows new characters Claude Wallace and Riley Miller, soldiers in the Edinburgh Army who are assigned to Operation: Northern Cross, a desperate offensive created to capture the heavily-fortified Imperial capital in order to bring an end to the war. Players will take up the role of Commander Claude Wallace and his team of childhood friends in Squad E as they fight for Operation Northern Cross, their last efforts at taking the Imperial capital and bringing the bloody war to an end. The first Valkyria Chronicle was released by Sega back in 2008 for PS3 platform, along with a sequel that followed in 2010 on PSP.

The Valkyria spinoff that came out earlier this year might have disappointed fans but they're going to be delighted with what Sega has announced today.
