US Air Force: Iran provided capability for missile attacks from Yemen

Iran provided capability for missile attacks from Yemen

During his visit to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday, Macron suggested amending the JCPOA.

French President Emmanuel Macron has said his viewpoints on Iran do not conform with Saudi Arabia's hardline stance vis-à-vis the Islamic Republic.

Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council - the United States, France, Britain, Russia and China - plus Germany signed the nuclear agreement on July 14, 2015 and started implementing it on January 16, 2016. He raised the prospect of possible sanctions with regard to those activities.

Iran has vehemently ruled out any negotiation on its missile program which it deems as an inseparable plank of its national security, meant for defense and deterrence.

While Iran denies allegations it provides weapons to the rebels, Macron said the missile was "obviously" Iranian, echoing United States claims.

According to the Saudi diplomat, the Saudi letter shed lights on the attack and uncovered that the ballistic was an Iranian-made missile, which was sent to the Houthi militias in Yemen.

"France officials including its president are well aware that levelling false accusations against the Islamic Republic of Iran stands in stark contradiction to the realities of the Middle East over the past decades", Qassemi responded.

Tehran expects Paris to remain "realistic, fair and farsighted" when it comes to the sensitive developments in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf regions, Qassemi underlined.

"The French government is expected to undertake tangible policies like forcing its regional allies to immediate halt of war and bloodshed, creating truce, and establishing peace and stability in Yemen", Qassemi urged the French. During his visit to Dubai on Thursday, he referred to a missile which was sacked from Yemen and intercepted by Saudi Arabia earlier this month. A charge Iran strongly denies and, in turn, blames Riyadh.
