New 2018 iPad Pro concept imagines Face ID & bezel-less design

Apple's iPad could drop the home button and add Face ID in 2018

The feature would replace the iPad home button that has come with a fingerprint scanner since 2014, one of the people said.

Dropping the home button on the iPad would allow for a larger screen in the same physical footprint.

However, the new Pro tablet is unlikely to boast the OLED display offered by Apple's latest smartphone, those familiar with the matter said. In fact, the excitement surrounding the iPhone X launch was so strong that we even saw a return of large throngs of people queuing up outside of Apple retail stores on launch day and throughout the weekend. But Face ID for unlocking will make its iPad debut, per Bloomberg's sources, along with improved internal specs, and a brand new version of the Apple Pencil.

Today's details from Bloomberg shared that next year's iPad Pros will adopt Face ID, which KGI also recently predicted.

According to the report, the screen size will be similar to the 10.5-inch iPad Pro released this spring.

The new iPad will apparently not have a new OLED display, which is on the iPhone X and is more colorful than other displays.

While the new iPad Pro concept looks visually flawless, Twitter has been quick to react pointing out that a bezel-less display of that magnitude may cause problems, with some worrying that accidental touches may hamper the user experience. More likely is early 2018 alongside the annual iPad refresh which we hope will have Face ID. Or are there other features you want in your next iPad?

After years in steady decline, the iPad has bounced back to post year-on-year growth in the last couple of quarters.
