Anthony Joshua vows to "eat" Deontay Wilder in 2018 bout

The IBF and WBA Super champion Joshua recently defended his belts against Carlos Takam

The WBC Heavyweight Champion now improves to 39-0; with 38 of those being knockouts.

Stiverne tried - knocked down once more by another big right hand - and a final flurry from Wilder with seconds remaining in the round ended the bout.

Stiverne then slumped to the canvas and stayed motionless for some time before being helped up and into a chair where he was examined by the ring doctor at the Barclays Center arena in NY. I know I'm the champion, I know I'm the best.

Speaking after Wilder's win in NY against Stiverne, the usually quiet and behind the scenes Shelly Finkel opened up for a rare occasion on some of the behind the scenes tactics that English promoter Eddie Hearn uses to gets fight made. "I got the heart of a lion".

Wilder was the heavy favourite going into this the sixth defence of his heavyweight title.

Wilder, swinging freely with both hands, showed plenty of his renowned power against a man who went 12 rounds against him two years ago for the world title, but this time Stiverne looked mentally beaten before the first bell.

He won the first fight with a one-sided unanimous victory and the rematch was even easier.

Wilder would have preferred to face Ortiz, but Ortiz tested positive for two banned diuretics, chlorothaizide and hydrochlorothiazide, in a random urine test conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association on September 22, he was dropped from the fight.

"So much frustration, it just seemed like my career, it's been insane".

"Let's make the fight happen, I know I'm the best, are you up for the test?"

Wilder initially landed a huge left-right combination to the face of Stiverne, who was never able to recover from the blow.

Wilder was so confident that he would win again that he vowed to retire if he lost.

Still Wilder said he respected Stiverne's willingness to accept the challenge. "It takes a lot of courage and it takes a lot of pride to step in the ring with someone like me".

At the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Wilder had been expecting to fight unbeaten Cuban Luis Ortiz before he failed a drugs test just four weeks before the fight date.

Joshua, who beat Carlos Takam in Cardiff last weekend, is on the lookout for his next opponent, although it is expected promoter Eddie Hearn will give him one more fight before a summer showdown with the Bronze Bomber.

"I been waiting on that boy for a long time now". I know I'm the best.
